On Saturday twelve walkers meet at the Mosgiel New World where we and headed to Waihola beginning our walk from the Lake Waihola reserve. On our final Summer Walk, we did “part” of the Clutha Gold Trail walkway / cycle way from Waihola to Milton 17km, walked on the extensive boardwalk sections through the wetlands beside and even across Lake Waihola.The wetlands is a renowned haven for its wildlife,. the walkway opened in September 2023 with beautiful views across Lake Waihola looking over to the Sinclair Wetlands. On our return to Waihola we then visited the Lake Waihola Tavern & Restaurant for afternoon tea.
