VP5k Races 2024 Saturday 18th May

Report by John Stinson

The Caversham Harrier Club held their Annual Vice President’s 5K Races in cold wet conditions at Bayfield Park last Saturday with the course circuiting the Park and Streets surrounding the Anderson’s Bay Inlet. The race was formerly held around Forbury Park Raceway for 97 Years with the first recorded edition being 1925. Despite the inclement conditions competitors still managed to convey an atmosphere of enthusiasm and enjoyment to everyone involved. Their appreciation shown to the Marshal’s around the Course and to the Recorder’s and Timekeepers at the Start/Finish area was great.
