Winding Vine Relay – Saturday 26th September – Report

Always in the back of the mind, what will the weather be on race day, always going to be a head wind, a tail wind, or, is possible, calm ideal conditions, whatever it was, 20 teams of 6, a mix of runners and walkers for the 2026 Winding Vine Relay, Portobello to Port Chalmers. Caversham was to field 5 teams. Success for the Cavy Mambas, taking out line honours with Cavy Taipans in 3rd place. Some fast times recorded, Lap 1 / 3rd Eve Kelleher 12:49, Lap2 / 3rd Jayden Toomey 17:03 and Lap6 / 2nd Leon Miyahara 17:37.
